Sundays are "me time".

I am one of those people that has lists to take care of lists, buys birthday gifts 2 months in advance and has them wrapped waiting in the spare room and schedules in breakfast into my diary.

So, when Sunday rolls roun'... it is time to play. I usually do some home activities, hardly ever any social activities and often some entertainment activities. One particular Sunday this is what I did. However, it is important to note that I never finish off all of the things on my lists so Sundays are often spent doing so.

Make Up Brushes
I can honestly say I never think to clean my make up brushes. You can spend money on brush cleaners or you can do it this way and achieve a better (cheaper) result:

1. Rinse brush under running tap - avoid immersing/soaking whole brushes
2. Apply facial cleanser to brush until foaming
3. Rinse brush under running tap - gently pinching the brush to ease the make up out.
4. Press excess water off on to an old towel, fluff back to original shape and lay down to dry. Do not dry standing.

Beanhunting
Visit www.beanhunter.com and hunt down a nice coffee shop. This is seriously the best app on the market. I always pick ones 7/10 and above - I am not a happy camper when I get handed crap coffee.

Carpet Stain Removal
I work in a soil laboratory, J is an earthmover and carpets aren't really "us". I can never sit still for long enough (on a normal day) to wait for the foam to dry so I tried a Preen stain removal product which worked quite well.

Vinyl Record Upcycling.

I used a pack of 5 hooks which I got from Bunnings for about $4.00. However they were the 'no damage' ones with the special tape on the back so I ripped it off and used super glue as a replacement.

For a while I have wanted to make one of these. Vinyl record bowls can be used for anything. I have decided to put it on my bedside tables to store my sleeping remedies. It gives my bedroom a nice touch. If you would like to make a bowl please follow these intructions:

1. Pick your vinyl up from the Op Shop - usually about $1.00
2. Take all racks out of oven and leave one remaining at the bottom. Preheat to about 175 degrees.
3. Choose a heat proof dish/mug/bowl
4. Once oven is heated, place dish/mug/bowl upside down and align the vinyl on top.
5. Stand watching the vinyl melt - it will take a few minutes
6. Remove from oven - be careful obviously - the vinyl will be malliable and you can twist and bend to however you want it or leave it to cool as is.

Eye Chart Art.

I recycled some old photo frames that were in need of an update (friendships fade and fade some more). I typed quotes in the font which I believe is closest to the one used in Snellen charts. It will be nice to change them from time to time. It must be a trick because 6 months on I still sit and read them letter-by-letter like this: Y. O. U... Perhaps that will help people to divulge the information properly?
