Household Garbage Pick Up.

I found these two bedside tables on the side of the road during a council clean up. They were originally white and a little worn out. I started by doing some light sanding and then painting with a Black spray gloss but wasn't impressed with the outcome. I started again by sanding all the flaking sections right back and painted with Black gloss (the paint from the Pallet Coffee Table) and a brush.

These are used in J and I's bedroom at the moment. Temporarily. They just don't feel right... those that know me very personally will understand.

Chalkboard Paint.

Misc. Jars.

Waste is a big no-no for me. These jars are used for analytical testing on soils and were going to be thrown out (they hadn't been used yet). About 30 brand new jars were up for grabs and being the person I am, I saw another use for them so I willingly accepted them. I used black chalkboard paint to provide a surface for labelling. If I run out or want to swap contents I can easily wipe off with a damp cloth and start again. Many more uses for these jars to come...

6 months on... J and I both have "money jars".

Pallet Coffee Table.

This article marks the very beginning of my DIY/Upcycling/Home Handy Woman adventures. To this day, I still feel a sense of pride. However, there is a slight lack of workmanship and skill now there is hindsight at play!

This coffee table began as a pallet ready to be thrown away at work. With some TLC (2 sanders - borrowed, 1 sander returned, 6 coaster wheels - $1.69 each, 0.5L Black gloss $15.00) it came up a 'treat'.
